This was stitched on a piece of 28 count evenweave from a Crafty Kitten grab bag.

For those of you who wondered, the runes spell out Gandalf's speech while facing the Balrog on the bridge in the Mines of Moria - "You cannot pass.  I am a servant of the Secret Fire, Wielder of the Flame of Anor.  The Dark Fire will not avail you Flame of Udun.  Go back to the shadow. L.O.T.R."

I stitched her on a piece of random 28 count linen I had using the recommended DMC.  

The only change I made was to give the witch green eyes and I used satin stitch for the broom.

Witchy Kitty

This is the cute little Witchy Kitty from Carand88.

Stitched on 28count Burnt Orange Jobelan, my favourite fabric for Hallowe'en stitching.

I changed the main colour from cream to a nice silver grey (DMC 415) because it looks nicer on the orange.
I also changed the eyes to metallic green DMC.

Ghostie Kitty

Stitched with Kreinik Glow-in-the-Dark thread.  
ps do you know how hard it is to photograph in darkness?  Answer - very, then you have to photoshop to see the pic at all!

Teresa Wenzler Futurecast conversion

I wanted a dragon and I wanted books, maybe a little dragon sitting on a pile of books?  So I googled around and found this conversion on Deviant Art.  She took the standard Futurecast chart and changed the crystal ball to a book!  Perfect.

Teresa Wentzler designed this dragon to be easily converted into any colour scheme you like.  There is an ornate border and she recommends choosing a variegated thread for it then matching the colours for the dragon.  I left the border off and chose a scheme based on one in the Gallery.

I found this freebie on the subrosa blog and stitched it for a Halloween blog where members stitch a themed Halloween ornament each month.  This month's theme obviously is "witch".  It was a little big for an ornament stitched over 2 on my (go-to) 32 count so I stitched it over one on 25 count.
